Hi all!

Are you looking for a permissive golf course that will give you confidence for your stay in Myrtle Beach? In such a case, allow us to suggest the Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina University ( https://www.facebook.com/HacklerCourseCCU and/or https://hacklercourse.com/ ), which we played earlier today. If you love doglegs to the right, you’ll be pretty well served at this courser, since there are plenty.

Weather conditions: sunny and 30 degrees Celsius (once again wonderful for golf)

Hackler, which is almost opposite the Wild Wing course on Route 501, reminded us of courses such as Blackmoor, MBN West and MBN Southcreek. So, for those who want to experience a course at a “budget” price, here is a place that you should appreciate.

We particularly liked holes #2, #14 and #18, three relatively short par 4s, but each with their own unique challenges.

The general conditions were really more than fair. The tee boxes were very good. Same thing for walkways and sand traps. As for the greens, they were really great and rolled really well (speed of 9.5 on the Stimpmeter)!

We played this course from the white tees at 6290 yards (4856 yards for ladies) and we had to take into consideration some obstacles, more specifically trees at a few dogleg corners.

In short, we recommend Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina University, a really good value for money if you want to reduce your overall bill for your golf package!

Shorter by about 40 yards!

The new green (wide and deep) is now more in the center (instead of being at the right) and well protected by a sand trap on the right side!

See you and @JW11 at True Blue in a couple of hours from now!

Thanks for these reports.  Isn't Hackler the old Belle Terre?

@tadpole: I'm 100 % sure that Hackler has nothing to be compare to the old Belle Terre! 😉

Hackler used to be Quail Creek.   It's been Hackler for awhile.   It's Coastal's course now.

I have not heard if they built on Belle Terre.    We used to see a couple holes from Rt 31.  Looks overgrown from Rt 31 now.

Thanks for reporting on this golf course. I played the Hackler some years ago. I remember the sand traps, in particular. I visited them too often at my taste.

I played Belle Terre also many years ago. This golf course had not a long life.
