Tee Time: 12:44
Rate: GolfNow Hot Deal $109
Tees: Overseed was perfect and flat
Fairways: Lush overseed 8/10
Bunkers: perfectly playable
Greens: Listed as UltraDwarf Bermuda but something else maybe. Yellow colored and “seedy” They rolled fine just not sure what they are
Gators: Was promised 3 or 4 by starter and got ZERO
POP: 4 hours
Cart Paths: Just fine.
Started on the back 9. Just the wife and I. Enjoy this course. It has several forced approaches and a few holes I personally think are bad designs (16 and 18). You get some great views of the Intracoastal waterway and the design never gets boring.
Glen Dornoch updated the greens to Champions about 7 years ago.
UltraDwarf is a default name for the various Hybrid greens.
Maybe you saw overseed or poa.
About the only place you will see gators is in or around lakes/ponds.
They don't seem to like the marsh.
The problem with #16 is the green is too small. The back left would be impossible
to get to with a long club.
#18 is interesting for those with enough power to hit over the marsh.
Thanks!

@artmbgolf 16 green is tiny. And it’s just dumb that no matter which tee you play from the least approach you’re looking at is 170 yards from the very edge of the upper fairway. My wife is a great player but she doesn’t have 170 carry in her.
I get risk reward but 18 isn’t that. The risk isn’t really big for long hitters but straight hitters then have a 200 plus yard approach if they lay up.
I also think 16 is bad hole, although not as bad as the 9th at Rivers Edge, which is probably the worst hole in the whole area from a design perspective.
Another good report, thanks for posting.

I like this course, although I agree that 16 & 18 are not good designs. Thanks for reporting.

I see tee times at Glen Dorn in every summer month. What website did you use?
It's also possible you checked a World Am day if late August.
They are not closing.
