Greetings!
Looking for a safe bet when you come to play golf in Myrtle Beach, regardless of the season? If you choose a course like Arrowhead Country Club, you’ll right on target!
We had the privilege to play earlier on this Tuesday, April 24, under a cloudy sky, but still with a nice 75 degrees, and again, we really were not disappointed. Arrowhead Country Club is a Ray Floyd design and features 27 holes.
For our part, we played the Waterway nine (our new favorite with a very nice mix of holes, especially the holes # 4 and # 5, a par 3 of 158 yards from the whites and less than 100 yards for the ladies with a huge pond of water that separates your tee box from the green and a par 5 of about 500 yards from the whites and 400 yards for women where birdie could be a strong possibility) and Lakes (the other is the Cypress).
These two nines play to nearly 6,664 yards from the blue tees, 6,183 from the white tees, 5,559 from the green tees, and 4,624 yards from the ladies tees. See the three scorecards at

.
Overall, conditions were almost perfect and greens, undulating and relatively fast. It's just a shame that we had a bit of difficulty reading them, most likely due to the fact that it was only our second round of the season.
Most holes are inviting when it comes time to go for your tee shot, but tend to be a little tight on reaching the green. Water is everywhere throughout the course, but not necessarily directly in play. Besides, beware of the (many) many sand traps, which are likely to cause you to use more often than desired your sand wedge.
That said, on almost every golf trip we make to Myrtle Beach, Arrowhead Country Club is on our agenda. One of the best balance between quality and price for a course of this range, geographical proximity to the airport and to the entire region, the challenge that is offered there and also for the quality of the staff.
In short, Arrowhead Country Club, another hidden gem in the Myrtle Beach area! Those who have already played surely keep good memories we. And for those who have not yet give it a try, the time is always right to break the ice!
Next round on Friday April 25 at Oyster Bay!
P. S. : by totally pure coincidence, I had the pleasure of crossing paths with the legendary (and "Artesque") @artmbgolf, who was scheduled approximately 30 minutes after me. And as usual, this "golf encyclopedia on two legs" was as enthusiastic as ever being back once again in Myrtle Beach (wishing him a wonderful MB golf stay)!

It was fun, interesting and a big coincidence meeting you at AH. I had read in your report you were playing AH on 4/24.
I was already booked with a 2some and I figured you were a PM twosome.
I thought the green speed varied between slow + medium, depending on if the green or area of green was partially dormant or
deeper green and fully in summer mode. I think because of this AH did not mow as tight/fast as usual.

Thank for the report Denis......nice to meet up with other forum members.
I have a 4some of friends in MB right now, they are doing the Legends package, 5 rounds, I think today is their last day.
Good report Denis, you can never go wrong with a game at Arrowhead.
Great report on a great course, I played that this summer and one other time neither time disappointed. It was just like you described in great condition and great people working at the course. MY daughter loved playing there it gave her a good challenge.
Let the Big Dawg Bark!!!
