Greens were very bumpy and pretty slow. Fairways decent at best, and tee's were heavily sanded. In their defense, it's that time of year of transitioning when many courses are having short term difficulties - especially since the weather is cold for here. Morning temp - 58! Grass down here likes a much warmer morning.

Thanks UGP. I'll probably be playing Tidewater in 5 weeks with a raincheck that I've had a few years.

We played it Sunday at 2:00 with LowRightOne and ObiWan (old school Delphi forum guys). The greens were smooth and fast, DO NOT get above the hole!! White tee's were in great shape, the parts of the fairways Shawn and I were in were fine, nothing to complain about.

""Short term difficulties?"" We didn't see ANYTHING like that on 6/4/23. We gave it at 8 out of 10 with the green collars were in rough shape (not defined) and thin sand in a few bunkers being the only "negatives".

Like you've always said Brian, course conditions change very quickly in MB

I played Tidewater a couple of times last week and thought it was in good shape overall. They had some issues at the edges of greens/fringes, but that seems to be a constant problem there for some reason.

The greens were probably the second "worst" I played all week, but it's not because they were bad -- they just weren't as good as the greens at Porter's Neck, Bulls Bay, Grande Dunes Resort, or the Pearl (the Pearl was in absolutely fantastic shape; by far the best I've ever seen it). Rivers Edge was about the same as Tidewater.

The "worst" was the Thistle, but their greens weren't bad either. It's just the standard issue there where they refuse to cut them to a decent length so they're really slow.

I'm actually flabergastered that you used the word "worst" ... they are not anywhere near bad or worst, and there is abolutely 100% nothing to complain about for Tidewaters greens. Hell come over to the office, we'll go play it this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon. There is 100% nothing wrong with Tidewaters greens!!!

@bnlongdriver I put "worst" in quotes because they were just near the bottom of the greens I played, not because they were actually bad. Thistle's aren't bad at all either, they're just slow because they won't cut them close. I didn't play anywhere with bad greens.

There's nothing wrong with the greens at Tidewater and I certainly wouldn't tell anyone to avoid playing there.
