It was with some trepidation that I ventured out to OB - one of the best and toughest layouts in MB. I played it often in the 90's and early 2000's on my golf trips. The course condition was very playable, it was nice to see they have brought it back from the depths of where it was not long ago. Greens were puttable, not like Farmstead, but acceptable and slow at 8. There has been some sodding on parts of a few greens. Fairways were good and rough not too bad in most places. Tees acceptable. The marshal at the first tee was kind of an A hole, and the bag boys were not the best, but the pro shop staff was good. Cart paths suck. Overall, I give the course a B which is far better than the D or F from a year ago. Put it on your list to play - it's got a lot of tough holes on it, but fun to play. If you like looking at gators, OB is the place to play - saw at least 10 and sure I missed more. One was on the front of the 17th island par 3 - fortunately the pin was all the way in the back. 6 gators just on holes 15 and 16.

Thanks for the report.  I have not played OB in more than 20 years.  Hope the improvement continues.

I played there recently and totally agree that the course is going in the right direction. Was told that the cart paths were supposed to be redone this year but Covid put those plans on hold. The new superintendent has made a huge difference. The layout is challenging with beautiful views.

OB is looking good.

OB also plays difficult because the yardage makes many play it too far
back, in relation to the par 70.   There are a number of short holes
along with long challenging holes.    Even the birdie holes are possible
doubles with a miss hit.

Thanks!
