Fazio - what you would expect from Barefoot. Tees, fairways, and greens lightly overseeded. Greens were so very smooth and fast - 11.5  Such a great course, but the bunkers while looking pretty are high maintenance with their steep slopes (and tough to get in and out of)

My favorite course at Barefoot

Shaftsbury - overseeded heavily in the fairways - and they look and play great. Greens os -and pretty quick - around 10. Not a favorite course for a lot of golfers as all greens are elevated, and a lot of straight holes - but I like it. A good challenge, #9 and 18 are standout holes. Plays a half club longer on approach shots. Friendly people.

Thanks for your reports UGP. It is great to read them. I think that it is a popular golf course for some reasons. Of course, many greens are elevated and there is not a lot of doglegs. It is repetitive. So, your approach shots could be often similar. SG has not the spectacular scenery of the back nine at Glen Dornoch which was designed by the same golf architect. But to me, SG offers open angles off the tees, wide fairways and some interesting greens depending of the flag positions. It is a good warmup golf course for any golfers because of the many choice of tees.

Thanks @UGP once again for sharing!

Those are two courses that are most of the times in excellent condition and each time I played at those two places, I did appreciate my golf experiences!

Those Fazio bunker slopes seem to keep getting steeper.  They must have a crew
just for bunker maint.

Shaft looks more modern with the new waste bunkers.

Thanks!

I like Fazio a lot.

Shaftbury is good too.. a nice budget friendly course usually in real good shape.

Good to see you are getting out more UGP.

Thanks again for storing my beach chairs  !!

Thanks for the report, both courses are good to me with Fazio being the toughest.

Our group has not played SG for a long time because most of the guys do not like all the elevated greens.  I am one of the few who did like the course for it's conditioning and good customer service.  Still have a raincheck from 2016!
