Thanks again for the reports. I have always like to play Shaftesbury Glen. Nice holes on this golf course. Elevated greens are a challenge.

The slowness of the greens might be the overseed, along with maybe not
mowing on Thanksgiving.

Courses make some decisions based on the amount of tee times booked.
If few TT are booked, they may do things like not mow, no drink cart, etc.

Thanks!

Day 13

Course: Burning Ridge

Greens: Decent, but very small. They rolled pretty consistent

Fairways: Thin and spotty, not the best.

Rough: Slim to none, some bare spots

CPO: No

Beverage Cart: Saw her on the first hole, but never again

150 Yard Marker: I don't recall

People I played with: 2 members, older guys. One left after 9 because his hands were cold.

Notes: An ok course. Minimal housing on the course. Very cold and windy today. Looked like the cart paths were recently replaced.

POP: 4.25 hours.

Breakfast: Ate at home.

Dinner: Chestnut Hill. OK, nothing special

Overall Day Rating: 7.5, mostly because of the weather

Tomorrow: Barefoot Norman

Thanks for reading.

The mowing was the first thing I thought of, but nothing looked fuzzy or shaggy.

Day 14

Course: Barefoot Norman

Greens: Very Good, but small. They rolled pretty consistent

Fairways: Very good, one of the best I played on this trip

Rough: Ok, not very thick

CPO: Only on holes 1,2,8

Beverage Cart: Yes

150 Yard Marker: I don't recall

People I played with: Played alone, the tee sheet was very sparse today

Notes: A very nice course. Minimal housing on the course. Very cold today.

POP: 3 hours.

Breakfast: Cracker Barrel.

Dinner: Greg Norman's

Overall Day Rating: 9.0, mostly because of the weather

Next round outside: January 18,2025, Pattaya, Thailand

The end of another successful trip. 13 rounds in 14 days. Was kind of an experiment this trip, with most tee times around 9 am instead of 11 am. We will go back to 11 am tee times next trip as getting up before 6 am most days kind of sucks after a while. I enjoyed all of the rounds, but I think I would eliminate Burning Ridge, Founders Club and possible Shaftesbury Glen from the rotation. Back to the frozen tundra of Minnesota and thanks for reading.

You made it a Norman day, with dinner at Norman's.

As you know, most MB courses don't have 11am tee times. due
to the double tee. More single tee in Dec when you are there.

Thanks for all your reporting!

Thanks for all the reports! We gave up on early tee times as well. We try to book the first afternoon round. We like casual mornings with breakfast around 10.

Mike what very enjoyable read on all your courses. i usually in MB in June and the wife like to also read some days. Most course have never charges for her to ride. I have played Caledonia several time and they are very easy to make several holes cart path only wend the course does not seem the wet to me. The one course you did not play was Tidewater one of my favorites.

Again thanks for sharing!!

One thing I forgot to mention was the Fish Chowder guy at Caledonia. Simply amazing chowder. Unfortunately is done until next spring. I have played Tidewater twice. Have been unimpressed with the overseed. Always has been brown.

Thanks for the comments.

I heard TW is overseeding now.   They have been overseeding late and
don't overseed the greens.

In mid Oct, I ran into overseeding at TPC, Pawleys(not greens) and
Wild Wing.   Maybe with 21 courses FGI starts early.
