Hi all!
Our golf courses are just about to open for our local season up here in the province of Quebec and... guess what?
Wearing a mask is compulsory ... on the golf course!
Besides, we also have to cope with an 8 PM curfew...
Welcome to the asylum! 🙁
Have a great day!

When the munis first started opening here in NJ last Spring, it was a very cautious approach. Twosomes, not foursomes. 20 minutes between tee times. No carts. We were just happy to be able to get out and hit the ball around the course. As time progressed, the restrictions eased up. By late summer it was pretty normal.
Hang in there, it will get better.
As long as you can't read French you should be OK
Golf is just an excuse to drink whiskey and smoke cigars
Hopefully this is a first step on the slow return to normalcy.
Good news!
Our Prime Minister just changed his mind earlier this afternoon and the mask isn't mandatory anymore... on the golf course!
Still a long way to go, but at least, there was something positive happening today!

Sounds like your golfers got on him about wearing masks on the course.

It was great to learn after my round of golf that the Prime Minister has changed his mind on that. It was very unconfortable to wear a mask when playing golf. And it was not supported by the science.

There was some lobbying fore sure and we're glad that a step in the right direction was made.
But we still have to cope with the 8 PM curfew, wich could penalize golfers who like to play a round of golf by the end of the day...

Plenty of room to distance on the course. Glad they reversed the decision.

Did anyone yell fore with their mask on? ????

I don't understand the 8pm curfew.
Is Covid more potent after 8pm in Canada ?
Anyways...rules are made to be broken Denis.
Hope you can get your 18 in.

Hopefully John, I’m among those who really like playing early in the morning.
But since I’m still working, it could be difficult to « squeeze » 18 holes between 4:30 and 7:30 in the evening.
So, let’s stay optimistic about the possibility that our curfew could be moved at 9:30 PM starting in May then, by the end of June, when the majority of adults here will have get their first dose of vaccine, we’ll see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Honestly Art, this rule was way too much and out of bound. She was not based on any scientific evidence. I follow all the rules since the beginning of the Covid-19 situation. But this rule was exaggerated. Golfers were furious, so the Prime Minister make a statement on Facebook to erase this rule rapidly.
