My wife and I went to thoroughbreds last night

we are staying in North Myrtle Beach and thoroughbreds is on Restaurant Row

the traffic was fine on the way there in both directions but at 8:00  we left Thoroughbreds to go back to North Myrtle Beach ....Rt 17 going north was backed up for a mile or two ..starting where Route 22 intersects Route 17

Nightime construction.

We sat at one intersection while the light turned from green to red 5 or 6  times

Got on Route 22 West  to go to 31 North

actually I would recommend using 31 as much as you can FYI.

The county is doing a good job of resurfacing many roads in the area - sucks though to be stuck while they're working but great when they finish. They have done a lot of 9, 57, and 905 where I drive a lot.

Hwy 31 is a god send to get around MB traffic, we stay close to Arcadian Shores so taking 22 to 31 is a big help,  also like Grissom Parkway, anything to avoid either 17.  Cannot comprehend the summer traffic down there, even in the winter time there are days it just does not move well.

We looked on google maps when we were stuck in traffic.

The map was red for about a mile, then green, then red again...well into NMB.

Don't get me wrong... it stinks to be stuck in traffic but it's great that they are fixing the roads because I've noticed the last couple years they had become pretty bad .

They also repaved Ocean Drive in NMB.

I use also the Highways 31 and 22 instead of the road 17 for to play golf in the Calabash region. It is faster. Waze is a good application for to see the traffic jam forward.

Having played Wachesaw Plantation Club for four straight days last week I can say there was no difference in travel time in the morning from Barefoot to Wachesaw going 31-544-17, 31-544-707-17, or just going 17 the whole way. However, in the evening with more traffic on the roads I felt taking one of the hwy-31 routes was quicker.

I read that rt 31 will soon be open  a few more miles south.

I guess the cement they were pouring on a bridge kept cracking.

The road was scheduled to be open over 1 year ago.

Good news. It is sometimes a nightmare to go south for to play golf.
