This spot is located at the old Overtime Sports Bar, very large inside and they can accommodate big groups. They have a large selection of beer, lots of Craft ones plus the old stand by's. Menu is manly Pub Grub and portions are good size, price to us were middle of the road for what you got. If you are a Bait eater they have Sushi as well ? The place was busy when we went so it could be a hit, hopefully they will stick around like their spot located by the 501 entrance to Legends.
Went by there last month (6-12th) and wondered what it was. Did not look like it was open yet.
not sure when it opened, but it was packed, new one is also supposed to open in Barefoot landing someone said.
Went there (501 location) twice during last months trip.
It was very good. Food and Service, atmosphere were great.
Had been to the Overtime many occasions over the past few years. It was going downhill fast. Good to see something clean and new in its place

Bait eater. Ha! Never thought about it like that. I guess I am included in that group.
Should not use the words " Bait Eater ", picked up the term from a friend who is a bigger meat and potato eater then I am. Drove by the place on Monday on our way to Trivia and it was packed again.
Don't knock it until you tried it. I didn't eat sushi until much later in life.
When it's fresh and in great combinations like a specialty roll ...it is a feast for the taste buds.
It has to be good quality though...there are many average sushi places that aren't worth eating there
The Grumpy Monk will be packed most nights as they have a great vibe , food , entertainment in a clean environment even a good choice for families. i think that they will be very successful. I wouldn't mind owning a piece of the chain.
Grumpy monk has a large menu and very diverse options. I eat at the one at Legends on 501 every now and then but I usually get something other than sushi. My wife and I absolutely love sushi, but we go to King Kong in Carolina forest for that, its the best I've found in Myrtle Beach. Otherwise, Grumpy's selection of craft beer and entrees are awesome!
Good to know!
''It's just golf, let's have fun''
Thanks for the report on Grumpy Monk. Our group ended up at 2 of the 3 while we were down off this report. Was very good, packed both times. Great service, friendly wait staff. Will be a regular stop for our group.

Maybe it's a mark of my too-long layoff from MB golf trips but on a recent leisure trip I was surprised to see Overtime replaced with the Grumpy Monk. I guess sports, trivia and a prime location weren't enough.
I admit that Overtime had slipped from its lofty perch in terms of food, service and foot traffic but I still found it worth visiting and absolutely loved the character inside. In the blessed days before phones were ubiquitous it was a great place to watch a game (natch), do Buzztime trivia and/or pub quizzes and (gasp) socialize, even with strangers.
Brewpubs are nice to have and I'm a hophead but they are popping up on every corner. I fear a rather depressing (figuratively and literally and economically) shakeout somewhere down the road.
