''It's just golf, let's have fun''
I will have to add this to my play list for the future.
Let the Big Dawg Bark!!!
I always enjoyed Avocet. Good conditions & customer service. Glad to hear that renovations include forward tees. The course can play quite long for senior players,
Avocet has always had a nice layout. This renovation (greens are the heart of any course) should help it compete better against newer or recently refreshed tracks in the area. Golfers notice when greens feel fresh, roll true, and actually offer interesting pin hole locations again.
TifEagle bermudagrass is an excellent choice. It’s proven in the Southeast for producing very smooth, dense putting surfaces that hold up well to summer stress and traffic. Once established and dialed in, it should deliver the kind of firm-yet-receptive greens that serious golfers want.

When I played there the week before it closed, the guy in the pro shop told me the rates were going up when they reopen to be similar in cost to MBN Kings North. That makes it less accessible for many including me even with Prime Times card.

I would not be surprised if WW raises rates when renovated.
I don't feel that WW would be worth the same as KN.
Looking at Oct and next April package rates, KN is still higher.
FGI has been renovating their courses, but they have raised their rates
more than other courses. Their dynamic rates also increase the most.
The Prime Times Card rates are way lower than what the courses would
cost without the card and without overpriced package rates supporting the courses.
At a typical non resort city, courses like TPC, Grande Dunes, TW, Caledonia, etc,
would cost $100-125+, else they would be in lesser condition and fewer courses.

@artmbgolf I get it. I live 5 min from MBN and will still not play Kings North regularly and pay $80 with the Prime Times card. The other MBN course are $39. I hope Avocet isn't that much after the renovation. I like the course a lot.
@2freds
You can save KN for the off season.
I didn't think KN was that high on Prime Times. It must have increased with the renovation.
WW is above MBN South + West, so maybe it goes up $10-15 after renovation.

I believe the pricing difference matters more to the people who live verses the people who only visit on holiday
