Which course would you rather play and why?
I like Heritage better and recommend it over Pawleys, even
if Pawleys is improved with the renovation. Heritage has
more unique interesting holes. Get there early if you want to
hit range balls, because the range and parking lot are away
from the clubhouse. They usually have a shuttle to the lot
and range, but walking or the shuttle takes time.
At Pawleys the scenic unique holes are the par 3's #13 and #17,
with a unique bridge tee. Some also don't like those 2 holes
because both are shots over the marsh to shallow greens.
Both are must plays IE Heritage top 10 and Pawleys 2nd or 3rd 10.

I agree with Art, I have returned to play Heritage multiple times because of the layout. When I played Pawley's I thought nice course but wasn't blown away by it at all even after birdieing 13 lol. I've only played Pawley's once, Heritage probably 5-6 times.
Heritage would be my vote, solid course with many memorable holes, conditions that past 2 winters has been very good. Greens are very large as well, a back pin will have you taking at least 1 more club to get the ball to the area the hole is, wrong club will lead to a 3 putt or worse as we have found out over the years.
@jsp4433 : I love both courses but I would give the nod to Heritage for all the reasons other forum members had already share with you so far!

I am with everyone, having played both I will pick Heritage. To me it is more unique with hole selection. Pawley's is a great course but I freaking hate the holes with Tree's in the middle of fairway, besides that I think it is a nice layout with some cool looking holes.
In the end I will pick Heritage.

Never had the pleasure to play Pawley's Plantation. Several years ago, we stayed there in a rental condo but we could not schedule a tee time as they were having a member-guest event. The staff booked us at Caledonia which was a great gesture. I've only had the occasion to play Heritage on one prior occasion however the experience was not good; aeration of greens & aprons was underway along with some bunker work. I need to get Heritage on the fall schedule. Thanks for the input.

I'd pick Heritage, but haven't played there in many years after suffering through 5+ hour rounds over the last few visits.
