It's the Dunes - the only USGA quality course in MB. It's just special. Not in it's best shape right now as it needs the spring and summer to heal all the sodding they have done. Perhaps the best hole in MB #11. Lots of hills and fantastic greens that are extremely fast but fair. There are so many subtleties to the shots needed on this course. If you have never played it - pay the fee one time, it's worth it. Get with Brian to set it up. PS - It plays longer than it's yardage!

So much history at the Dunes, once the qualifying course for the PGA Tour and the home of  the Senior Tour Championship for a few years.  As you say, open up your wallet for this course.

There are many courses in MB that have more wow factor (other than 11 and 13 at Dunes) but they don't have character and quality of shots required. Dunes is surprisingly gently hilly.

The Dunes... that says it all and I agree with you totally UGP!

It's a privilege to play that course and each time I did, it was a thrill for me!

Thanks again for reporting!

Holes 11-13 is a great stretch.   How were the new bunkers?   Even the old bunkers were great.

Thanks!

Art - the bunkers are still a little soft - but playable.

Another poster-Doug- just posted about Blackmoor in his report.

I replied to him, saying I hadn't played Blackmoor since it was a new course ... maybe 20 years?

But, anyways, I played Dunes the day after Blackmoor .

And that's the only time I played  it.

I remember parring Waterloo?? .. A long par 5 around a lake.

Is that #11 ?

The Dunes Waterloo par 5 is #13.
Good job parring that hole the first time.

I agree. It is a great stretch of holes. And a top tier golf course, like Caledonia and True Blue, 2 golf courses designed by Mike Strantz, a great golf architecte.
