Got to play The Dunes today thanks to Bob (1putt1).  My buddy Zack and I joined Bob and his buddy, Buddy, and the Dunes did not disappoint.  Greens rolled true - not quite as fast as Surf Club, but close - and were very receptive to well struck shots.   There obviously was an employee this morning cutting holes that thought he’d have a bit of fun at our expense (I’m sure that you can imagine).  Bunkers here are deep - dang!  Probably should just avoid them if you can.  Beautiful view of the ocean from #9 green, a delightful par 3.  The back 9 was very interesting and scenic and, after a lot of tied holes, was where someone finally started winning some holes in our match.  Hole #13, Waterloo, was quite the interesting design.  I did follow Bob’s instructions for a normal hybrid, 5-wood, 9-iron birdie.  I can’t say enough about what a beautiful place this is from tee to green.  Thanks again, Bob, for getting us on and a great time. BTW, Bob is a player!  I’m sure he got tired of me asking if I could carry every fairway bunker - haha.

Highlights:  chip in birdie on front nine after Bob put one tight.  Eagle on Par 5, #15.  Zack birdies #1 out of the gate.  73 (+1) from blue tees.  Bob’s pure putting stroke!

That's about as good as a day can get.

Congrats!

Great report! Thanks! I imagine that it is a great experience to play at the Dunes, near of the ocean.

It's the best course in MB. Especially if you like traditional golf. 73 is a very good score on the Dunes - congrats to Artist.

I agree with UGP... definitely the best course in Myrtle Beach!!  Since my group expanded from 8 to 16 players six years ago we have played The Dunes every year....the new guys love it too much to take it out of the rotation!!

The Dunes is one of my MB favorites.

Pace is always good there.  Seldom are ball searches needed or difficult and they
are  not afraid to speed up slowpokes.

Thanks!
