Yesterday it was Barefoot Fazio. This design is my favorite among the Barefoot layouts. The course has elevation changes, spacious greens, flashed bunkers everywhere, and a routing that is terrific (although I could do without the Rte 31 traffic noise on a few holes). Conditions could be better for sure as there were some shortcomings due to maintenance and grooming practices. The overseed is very good, it's healthy enough so that lies are fine but a bit tight and it's not grown too long so the ball does bounce and roll. After playing Crow Creek the day before, we found the greens slow but I'll quickly qualify that as Crow Creek was probably 11-12 and Fazio was probably 9-10. The flashed bunkers can be very penal as the upper, flashed section is soft and balls will bury and plug. So, beware of this upper section of the bunkers as you may not have a stance or a shot. The one knock on the course right now is the rough is very thin and worn in many areas, it just doesn't look healthy. I'm certain they have a plan for these areas come spring. We had the 8:20 tee time, played in 3.5 hrs with an easy pace. Love it and can't wait to go back this spring.

The POP was very good. Fazio is a great course design. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the report. Played Fazio last spring & was surprised how LONG it was from the senior tees. 2 or 3 holes in the first 5 were par 4s over 400 yards, but at least 2 of them were into the wind.
Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle.
