Played the Aero Club par 3 course by the airport which re-opened fall of 2020. Upon check in the clerk stated these were the best greens on the grand strand. I had to restrain myself from busting a gut, but when I went to play I was shocked at how good the greens were! No they're not the Surf or Dunes, however they really are as good as the greens on most other area courses. Putts rolled very true and had decent speed. Greens and fringes had a thick overseed. They also constructed new grass tee boxes which will be debuted shortly (had to play off mats today). Cool place to hang out for 60-90 minutes with airplanes taking off overhead and 70s music flowing through the speakers around the course.
Was that your warmup for more rounds?

Yup, just a warmup with some time to kill.
Drive by it all the time and usually there are at least a few people on the course. Greens, from a distance, normally look good. Hoping that will be my son's first golf experience when he gets a little older.
I will put this in my trip report but we just played it. Completely agree. Expected crap from the greens and was shocked. It was fun, no hole over 95 yards and most are 70 - 80 (I used a gap wedge and putter). They will stay open after dark beginning March 13. It was $30/person. We will do it again if it stays open.
Course looks very nice from Hwy. 17, always busy as well when the temps are nice.
