We played here last week. Course is in good shape especially the greens. Very smooth and fairly quick, especially if you’re above the hole. Starter said that the tee sheet was full and was encouraging everyone to keep pace. Our time was just over four hours.
It's good for a starter to remind golfers to keep pace.
Thanks!

Aberdeen was in real good shape the only time I played there.

Glad to hear about the conditions. I've always enjoyed Aberdeen, but it's been hit with some severe floods over the years.
Agree about the importance of the starter emphasizing an expected pace of play. That along with a ranger or two roaming the course, reminders during the round (either on the scorecard or by a posting at every third/fourth tee box), and GPS equipped carts that can monitor actual POP on the course are all great ways to maintain a 4-4.5 hour round.
Aberdeen is on my list since a long time. Good report.

We played here today. The greens are in tremendous shape! Overall course in very nice condition. Was surprised that only hole 1 on Meadows and number 9 on Highlands were CPO. Really nice shape saw a gator and a bald eagle. Great day!
I still need to play here. Was just in Aberdeen, Scotland, last week. Unfortunately, no time for golf!
@polekat914 That's a shame because there are a lot of good courses around Aberdeen, including Royal Aberdeen, Murcar, Trump International, Cruden Bay, Newburgh-on-Ythan, and Fraserburgh. Like most people, I agree that there are many quality courses near St. Andrews/Edinburgh and down along the coast west and south of Glasgow, but I could make a pretty good golf trip out of the half dozen I just listed with other gems, like Carnoustie, Arbroath, Panmure, Castle Stuart (now Cabot Highlands), and the two courses at Nairn, a bit further away.
It was. I stayed the weekend in Edinburgh expecting to golf one day and fish the other day. Unfortunately, I fell ill on Friday evening with a high fever and major body aches, etc., and spent the weekend sleeping/recovering. Was good enough by Monday morning to get back to work!
Hopefully, I'll have a chance to visit again in the (somewhat) near future. I expect to.
Sorry to hear about the bad timing PK.
@Iwildernova thanks for the course list

Id like to play Aberdeen but I'm afraid it'll be under water while I'm down from our trip. One year in November it was under water the whole week .The last time I played there if my memory serves me right,it was called Buck Creek.

You are correct about Buck Creek being the old name. That was around 15 years ago.
Aberdeen has only flooded during hurricanes.

I played there two weeks ago and the conditions have deteriorated since February. Six or seven greens were suffering a bit.
