With this line up you will have a great MB experience.
8 glorious sun drenched days in Heaven. Here is my report:
Golf:
Day1: Valley at Eastport The home of one of the toughest finishing holes. Fairways were good, we road the fairways (a common theme for all week) Greens were medium speed. Bunkers were okay. Interesting layout for a course that doesn't get much love. Staff was not very friendly as they closed the clubhouse and bar at 6pm, with four groups still on the course.
Day2: Myrtlewood Pine Hills The course was in good shape. The rough on certain holes was very penal. Greens were rolling true and fast. A solid course however nothing spectacular.
Day3 Farmstead My final visit to this course. It was in good shape considering its' impending doom. Greens were very good. We were warned about the bunkers, so we could move them around. A couple of fairways had sprigs of grass that were unsightly, but did not affect play. That put a damper on the aesthetic view of the course. The staff were gracious and very friendly. The pro shop was barren.
Day4 Arrowhead Lakes /Waterway Played on a raincheck from Last year. The course was in Great shape. Everything was up to its' stellar reputation. Greens true and fast, fairways were rolling. Bunkers were fluffy white sand. My only regret was getting bad yardage on the money wager Par 3 Waterway #6. This place is a keeper in our rotation.
Day5 River Club The course was okay. Water everywhere as the name suggests. If you are not hitting the ball straight, bring extra pellets. The fairways were running fast. The greens were one of the best of the trip. (I had my best putting day of the week). The bunkers were good. The only downfall no range and the hitting net was not usable. Would recommend a return to this course.
Day6 Tiger's Eye Played on a raincheck from Last year. The course was in okay shape. Its' lower status is well earned. Greens were inconsistent. Fairways were fine. It does have many gators on it.
Day7 Pawley's Plantation The course was great. As someone said to our group on the 13th Tee "this hole is shortest par 5 ever". The wind was blowing in about a club and half which made me fly the green and go to the drop area, hence I made the double but it was a par in the opinion of the passerby. The greens were the 2nd best of the week. Fairways were fast. The practice area is top-notch. Highly recommend this course.
Day8 Pine Lakes The best of week. Everything here was great. Greens, fairways and bunkers were the best. Enjoyed the mimosas, the table was conveniently setup around 10th tee, so you could hit it twice going to 10 and then going to 14. The renovations are fantastic. The bunkers were great however they were surrounded by thick rough. Highly recommend this course.
My Rankings (1 is highest):Pine Lakes 1; Pawley's Plantation 2; Arrowhead Lakes /Waterway 3; River Club 4; Myrtlewood Pine Hills 5; Farmstead 6; Valley at Eastport 7; Tiger's Eye 8
FOOD: Carolina Roadhouse, Miyabi and Benny Rappas for dinners were all excellant. Patio's was a fun afternoon lunch. Eggs Up in North Myrtle was super for breakfast. The rest of the time was spent at the Hospitality suite.
Accomodations: Bay Watch Resort. The rooms are getting dated, the breakfast buffet was okay.
Hopefully this will provide some insight for the future planners.

I am in MB now. The only course in your list that I have played or will play this trip is
Pine Lakes. The new bunkers look good and the grassed in faces keep the ball from
running back to our feet, if we are just barely short of getting on.
The greens were great and had good speed. We have never said that before about PL.
Thanks!

As the self proclaimed King Of The Midtiers, I highly approve of you course selections.
The Valley At Eastport as the opener was a ballsy call, but I like it.
A very nice mix of courses.

I approve your lineup also. I would be happy with that also.
