Feb 28 - Arrowhead
Course in great shape from tee to green. Every errant shot will roll to trouble. Played all 3 nines. Greens were true at about a 11 on the meter. Recommend to play. Played 2700-2900 tees. Have played here before and will play again
Mar 1 - River Club
Course in great shape from tee to green. Must be able to elevate shot into the greens, no run ups as greens are protected on the front side by bunkers. Greens a little slower probably a 9. Would not play again as some of us do not elevate approach shots well. Played around 5700 yard tees. Will not play here again. It seems that all the holes are the same. Hitting the same shot into the greens. Probably only used 5 clubs the whole day.
Mar 1 - Whispering Pines - 9 holes
Played here as a quick 9 on the way back to lodging. Tees not in good shape, fairways and greens ok. $25 for 9 holes. Easy to get on the course and on way to lodging is why we played here. have played 9 here before.
Mar 2 - World Tour
Course in great shape from tee to green. Greens receptive to holding shots. Very large greens for the most part. Have played here before and will play again.
Mar 3 - Rivers Edge
Course in great shape. Greens slowest of the trip, but putted true. Probably 8-9. Tee boxes good for most. Windy conditions today. Again played 5600-5800 yardage. Have played here before and will play again.
Mar 4 - Prestwick
Course in good shape. Greens fastest of the trip. >11. Hard to get the speed down after yesterday. Couldn't see all the slight breaks in the greens. I have played this course before and love it. The par 3s are different and fun to play.
Lodging
Grand Cayman Resort
Getting dated. Had to visit front desk 3 times as some of the electrical wasn't working (microwave). they would fix, but it would not be working the next day.
Have stayed here 3-4 times previous. But this will be the last time. Buffet breakfast is not the same since Martins left. They are not open early enough to get to some of the courses we played in time to warm up. Not much selection on the buffet. If you ordered eggs off the buffet you better be first in line, or else you are in for a long wait.
We cooked in 3 nights and ate at Drunken Jacks the last night. Recommend Chef Casey's special. Good food and atmosphere. Will visit that area (Murrells Inlet) again on another trip to see what else is offered.
Thanks for the report. Were the repairs to #9 & 18 at Prestwick completed?
Thanks for taking the time to report. A nice lineup of courses.
Do they still have the hit the green contest on one of the par 3's at Arrowhead?
They were just finishing the bulkheads at Prestwick. Back filling with dirt, then placing sand. We were able to play both greens 9 and 18. No contests at the par 3s at Arrowhead that we were told of, but there were signs and tape measures at each. We thought they were for the locals playing some daily game. The starter or the pro shop personnel said anything to us about a contest.

Thanks for reporting @pistol1putt!
You had quite a nice selection of courses!
Just too bad your lodging experience at Grand Cayman Resort wasn't on par compared to the other years.

Grand Cayman was just renovated, when they changed the name from
Long Bay, 4-5 years ago. If you like your golf director, consider
Ocean Reef next door.
Thanks for reporting!

Last time down was Feb 2012...Stayed at Long Bay. Much different this time. Pool area had broken windows covered with plastic. And like was stated earlier, power problems that kept coming back during the stay in the unit we stayed in 1055. Also, not even close to Martins for food quality as when it was Martins. Not open early enough to get to a couple of the courses for warm up. Will look into Ocean Reef for next visit.
Thanks for your report on some lovely MB area courses, hear you on Arrowhead when an errant shot will not stop until it hits trouble, thanks again for taking the time to report your experience.
@pistol1putt I think it was $20 and you could double your money for landing on the green. Even if you didn't win, you got a credit at the pro shop.
Thanks for the report. If you're staying at Grand Cayman or Ocean Reef and want a pizza, the place opposite the Schooner (7050 Ocean Blvd) is good and the Mexican restaurant on 17 and 70 is reasonable and good.
Thanks for reporting!
Thanks for the report on your trip, it was very informative.
Let the Big Dawg Bark!!!
World Tour always seems to be in great shape.
I agree with your River Club comments. I got one of my very few lifetime eagles on 18 there, but I didn't love the layout.
I played Litchfield and Burning Ridge on the same trip and enjoyed both of them more than RC.
Great report Pistol.. thanks for checking in.
