We took advantage of the warm weather and played a lot of golf this week.
Monday was Willbrook. The course was surprisingly quiet with only 40 or so rounds booked for the day. There was good overseed coverage from tee to green. The greens were a bit quicker than I have seen them. Bunkers were in good shape. We played in 3 1/2 hours.
Tuesday we were off to Glen Dornoch. Again, good overseed coverage from tee to green. The greens were very quick. Only one green — Number six — had rough spots. Bunkers were ok. We played in a foursome and finished in 4:15. They have newer carts with GPS. Ate at Pizzeli’s after the round. It is a good spot for pizza, pasta or a sandwich.
Wednesday was Shaftsbury. This may have had the best conditions of the courses we played so far. Greens were quick. Bunkers filled with nice soft white sand. Level tee boxes. The afternoon was not busy and we played in 3:15. The carts had GPS. Dinner was at Dagwood’s. Big sandwiches, good happy hour prices for beer and pretty easy on the wallet.
We may find a round tomorrow before the cold weather settles in.
