After 14 hour drive straight through plus one hour crossing at border on November 8th, played three rounds over the past few days. On Tuesday played Myrtlewood Palmetto. On the first tee shortly after noon. Beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky and 72 degrees. After a rainy October in Ontario, it was nice. Course in good shape. Greens very good. Slow pace of play though, waiting on every hole. Five hour round.
Thursday played Pine Lakes. Teed off at 12:30. the course was busy. Unfortunately, we were behind a foursome that was very slow. On the par 3 11th, they took 15 minutes to play the hole. We passed on the 15th and went to the 16th tee. we finished before the sun was down. the four groups behind us probably not so fortunate. New greens are in great shape. It was another sunny day.
Friday played Barefoot Fazio. Course was wet in a lot of places from the overnight rain and watering with the recent over-seeding. It is a great layout. Conditions not quite what they usually are. putting down some new sod around some bunkers and some tee decks not in great shape. But another sunny warm day. Another slow round as everyone is out enjoying the great weather.
Thanks for the report. I'm glad that you can get back to Myrtle Beach. Covid and the pandemic sucks!
I understand easily your excitement to replay golf in Myrtle Beach after 20 months. I would be excited also. I agree with you that Fazio is a great course design. This course is on my short list for this spring. Thanks for your report, very appreciated.

Happy for you to get back to the Grand Strand. I'm sure the wait was tough. Enjoy.

Overseeding is frustrating this time of the year.

Thanks for your report on your first week back to MB, nice courses for you so far. Looking forward to week 2's report.
Thanks for reporting @ Catfish.
In the case of a slow 4some at Pine Lakes. I've seen that too often .. not just in Myrtle but all over the U.S.
The rangers need to do a better job. When they come across a group like this the ranger needs to tell them to pick up their golf balls and move to the next tee or sometimes even two tees if they are way behind.
Part of the agreement to play the course, all golfers need to know they have to keep pace or they will be told to skip a hole or 2.
Look forward to more reports @ Catfish

Nice hear one of our northern friends able to come across the border and play some golf. Thanks for the updates.

So glad you guys are able to get back here and play. There is no excuse for a 5 hour round, heck even 4 1/2. This past week we were the first foursome off at my home course, we were getting out of the cart to go to the 18th green in 3 hours and 22 minutes. And we were not rushing. Oh and it was CPO.
