I realize most MBGTF veterans have been avoiding the Big Cat courses due to their poor playing conditions, etc.
Nevertheless, can anyone who has seen one or more of the courses recently provide an update?
Played Leopard's Chase and Tiger's Eye last May and was relatively pleased with the conditions then, even if it could be better!

I last played Tigers Eye in late April 2022. It was fine for a raincheck round or
Passport, Trail card rate. Some have said that TE is the best choice if you play there.
I would not book a package group there, if they want to be impressed.

We played Tiger's Eye on Sept 23. The consensus (8 of us) was it's a nice layout but course conditions were not good - especially greens. Bumpy, bare spots, etc.
It's kind of disappointing. It's the 3rd time I've played it over the years and right now, unless things change, it'll be the last. When I first played it in 2006, I thought it was real good.
I'm feeling the same way about Leopard Chase - great the first time I played it, mediocre the next.
I'd recommend Thistle instead right now.

@psteinhe Thanks for the update, very appreciated.

Did you play all the Big Cats? Any other to report on? Thanks!

No, we just played Tiger's Eye last week. I thought I heard Leopard Chase was closed while we were there, though I could be wrong.
Earlier this year we played both Lions Paw and Tigers Eye, both were disappointing, but good Passport rate made the days bearable. We had booked Leopards Chase, but cancelled when we saw the greens conditions, we do hope over the winter the conditions improve a little.
I played Leopard this morning with a large group, we were charged a discount rate because of conditions.
Greens were very bad, slow, bumpy, weeds growing in them, bare patches, u name it, it was on at least 1 green. our 4some agreed to no more than 2 putts on the greens, ball would get thrown off line so much.
The rest of the course was so so, fairways gave decent lies, rough was sparse here & there. Sand where it was not waste area had not been groomed in awhile. Course needs some TLC, its a really good layout, conditioning needs to get back to where it was 10 yrs ago.
@wolverine12 Sad to hear that about LP.
Played there soon after it first opened - I remember no club house, just a trailer. Thought it was a beautiful course - one of the nicest ones I had played, and I've played 80+ different courses in MB over the years.
Second time I played it a few years later - not so good.
If I lived at Ocean Ridge, I doubt I'd be real happy.

Four guys from our group played an extra nine at Tigers Eye last week. Did not like the conditions.
I was checking tee times for today a few days ago -- essentially every course I looked at up and down the coast was either fully booked or only had a few times available in the afternoon.
All four Ocean Ridge courses were wide open. There were only a handful of times booked across the property. I think that tells you all you need to know about the conditions; seems like people are choosing to just not play rather than go play there.
I don't know how they can stay open like this. Something has to change.
I played Tigers Eye on Friday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised.
I use to love this course for many years when it was one of the top tier courses.
The course was still absolutely beautiful to play even with all of the new homes that are built and visible on some of the fairways.
it was not in horrible shape ...this time...as it was starting to deteriorate slowly over the past few years. The conditions were not perfect...but it wasn’t bad and very enjoyable to play again..
I would recommend it to anyone who loves a great layout and fun course to play.
I have played 36 holes everyday for the last 4 days on this trip so far...including 36 holes at Caledonia and Heritage ...both were great with perfect weather..
Tigers Eye was an afternoon replay after morning round at Oyster Bay and the other golfers that I took with me enjoyed it greatly and were very pleased to see this course making a resurgence.
Plesantly surprised myself. Thanks for this update.
