TPC has been named golf course of the year 2019 by the owners association in Myrtle Beach. Quality of the course conditions and the quality of the management are amongts the factors considered.

It was the home course of Dustin Johnson for many years. The design of the bunkers is special on this course. A great layout ranked high in my book.

Congratulations to all the employees and the owners.

TPC is the first repeat winner.  It has been improved under FGI, back to what
we would expect to find at a TPC course.

TPC is a solid course and seems to always be in good condition, staff there are great as well.  Missed it this past winter due to rain but will be on the to play list asap once we are down again.

I am planning the same thing Leftygar1. Solid course and a lot of bunkers.

While TPC is not in my top 5, it is a great course that I would play more often if it wasn't so far south. I'll try and join you (Lefty and SH) this winter

Thanks for posting S***H.

It's interesting that BURNING RIDGE is among the other fine courses named COURSE OF THE YEAR, yet BR seems to never get mentioned, and no one seems to want to play it.

I think it has to do with the name of the course - Burning Ridge.

It may play on your mind that the course may not be "green".

I've had the options to play courses named Brown Acres (in Tennessee)and Brown's Run and passed on them. I had a mental picture of brown fairways.

Burning Ridge doesn't make me think of green either.

I DID play Burning Ridge once and really liked it,FYI.

IF you find the list of all MB courses of the year, you will see a mix of premium,
mid and average courses.   While they have a criteria for winning, in most if not
all cases for the average courses, they were after a big renovation, where they
made a nice come back.    In a lot of cases, it was comeback course of the year.

I agree with Art. Arcadian Shores is a great example of a comeback course. But i do not remember if Arcadian Shores has been selected as the course of the year in the last 3 years. If not, it is certainly a serious pretendant.

Arcadian Shores has not won.  Maybe they didn't meet the other requirements.
Bet on AS for next year.  ????

The other consideration is what the course does to promote golf and charities.
