Played Panther's Run following the very recent, very heavy rain.  The course was shaggy.  Rough was deep & thick, fairways were high, bunkers had some wash out & standing water.  Greens were not holding anything, were grainy, a little slow, and a little bumpy.  I'll give the course a pass due to the very heavy rain, but had it not been for the rain, I would have been disappointed.  Once they cut everything, I think it will be OK, although I'm not totally sold on how well the greens will roll.  Proceed with caution on this one.

Panthers is a great layout - terrific holes, unfortunately it's been in bad shape for quite awhile. It needs some tender loving care to bring it back to what it once was.

It's odd the PR greens don't hold after heavy rain, but they were new greens in 2018.

Thanks for the report.

Thanks for the report.

I said the same thing when I walked up to #1.  How could they be so hard on the approach with so much rain.  I recall fixing one ball mark the whole round.

Looking at the aerification schedule under Course Talk, the Big Cats courses
are the most aerified in MB.  Every month of the summer they have one of
big core, medium core, small tine no core, etc.

PR greens and course was very good in April.   Besides weather issues, sometimes
a course doesn't mow for a few days because of a chemical treatment, empty tee sheet
or something.   Then sometimes we are lucky that they have just done extra work to get
ready for a club champ, outing, etc.

To bad the conditions at all of the Cat Courses have been going downhill, all 4 courses give you something to talk about.

I played Panthers Run in April. Conditions were just correct.

I played PR in October and the course was in better than average shape, although I don't recall if the greens held.

Thanks for reporting

My group used to play the Cat courses semi regularly - we haven't been out there in a very long time due to conditions. Leopards Chase is one of the finest layouts in MB - and could be a tier one if the conditions were better.

There have been numerous reports the conditions at all the Big Cat courses.  What happened?  If I was a property owner there I would be pretty upset.  Our group stopped playing there two years ago because of conditioning problems.

I need to update one of my comments - when I said that it could possible a tier one course I was referring to Leopards Chase not Panthers Run. Played LC about 5 months ago and came away disappointed by the conditions.
