Few like to spend the big bucks for BF, TB, Cal, and so on, or get on Dunes, Surf Club, Reserve, Wachesaw Private - so let's discuss the best of the affordable courses in the area
In no particular order -
South Creek, Arcadian Shores, Arrowhead, Farmstead, River Club, Diamondback, Blackmore, Founders Club, Wilbrook, Legends (not sure how affordable - it's cheap for residents)
I think these are all "affordable" in comparison to the high ticket courses. And I'm sure there are varying opinions - let's hear yours.

River Hills and Wild Wing to name a couple more.
River Club, Tradition, Willbrook, River Hills, South Creek, Wild Wing, Arcadian, Arrowhead, Blackmore, Wachasaw East
I will say Myrtle Beach area golf is a good value even the "high end" courses. You can catch them at good deals a lot of the time(particular in the summer). Even the top courses are not particularly high priced most of the time. You can catch Caledonia on the right deals for under $100. That's not bad at all and people from other parts of the country or near big cities are shocked.
If you are playing MB on the Passport or on Package in the Winter or Summer, all but a
handful of courses are affordable. It's peak Spring and Fall package rates that have the
good mid-tiers at or near $100 and the premiums running up to $250, with the
Dynamic Pricing, where the rate increases as tee times decrease below certain levels.

Can't believe I left off one of my favorite MB courses - River Hills -

All depend. Peak Season or not? River Hills for sure is a good choice. Others would include: Arcadian Shores, Wild Wing, Pine Lake, Pearl West.

Since I said in another post that I dislike paying $140+ for a round of golf, I guess I should speak my mind here (ha-ha).
Farmstead, Meadowlands, Crow Creek, Sandpiper Bay, Aberdeen, Arcadian Shores, Shaftsberry Glen, Wild Wing Avocet, Man O'War, and Possum Trot.
My other pet peeve is courses with to much housing, which is why River Hills is not listed.
I do not mind paying for a nice course. I also go in the summer so most courses are at there lowest cost. I thought Founders Club gave you great bang for your buck. I also agree with everyone else's suggestions.

I don't there is a course in Myrtle Beach I would pay $140 to play. Maybe Dunes Club just because I never have. That might be it.
I would pay 140 to play Augusta and Pine Valley. Might be one or two more that I can't think of right now

JW - Crown Park is a nice layout that most golfers don't think about. Tier 4 but a better routing than Beachwood.

I'm going to call myself out on my flippant comment about spending 140 - for a great course, of which there are many in the US and in MB and the SC area, it's a fair price for the amount of money it takes to build the course/facilities and then maintain them properly. In season in AZ you'll spend over 200 playing their top courses (OK, I think that's too high but they get it) I don't know what I'd be willing pay to walk on Augusta or Pine Valley - but it would a lot more than $140. I paid $26 for Pebble Beach in the mid 70's which was their going rate. Spyglass was $21

I agree with you on Crown Park. Like the layout and you really can’t beat the prices. Passport has it for a crazy low price.
They will usually let me bring players for $20 there. Nice people - they had issues with their greens - need to get over there to see if they are back to normal
