Played River Club today. Good shape, greens good, not super fast but good. I always enjoy River Club and enjoy the layout. To me it is just a solid place to go play. Fairways nice and overs seeded.
River Club is one of those 2.5 tier courses - a good routing - never disapoints

Thanks for reporting about a course that should deserve a little bit more credit!

I eagled 18 with an 18 inch putt... yes, almost an albatross.
I played Litchfield the same day, or the following day.
I know this is unpopular, but I liked Litchfield a lil better.
Litchfield is rarely talked about or reviewed.
Thanks for the report Herd.

Litchfield doesn't have as good a look as RC, but is a good course non the less. Like many of the older courses (most that are now gone) Litch has a bunch of hidden creek/drainage gulley's that come into play - need to know where they are. It's a solid course, but I do like RC better.

It really does, the course has a really good layout and can be tough, but it is fair. I think it has a lot of very good holes. And, wind seems to come into play at River Club.
I like River Club better than Litchfield. Litcfhield is a good course, but I have always enjoyed River Club more.
We like the layout on the River Club, nice Par 3's and you usually get good conditions, only knock we ever have is no driving range just the nets, thanks again for your report.
Played RC years ago, i enjoyed it but the lack of range sadden me. thanks for the update!
