The renovations of the wall onthe 16th hole at Prestwick golf course looks great. The addition of the bunker is a good idea. The railroad ties on 9th and 18th holes are a work in process. Those on 18th hole are almost complete. Prestwick was already a great course, those renovations will accentuate this reputation. Of course, it is a Pete Dye golf course...

I wonder if they are adding a bunker above the bulkheads on the other holes?

I haven't played there in 15 years. I'll be in the area next week and I'll be sure to put it on my list of places to play.
Commuter between North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Love to get back to Prestwick once the renovations have matured a bit.

Thinking about playing it next year to give my daughter a taste of a dye course.

@jbshepherds You might want to head to Barefoot for a true Dye -- I could be wrong, but I think he designed that course himself. I believe Prestwick is really a PB Dye course instead of a Pete course, although both their names are on it.
Not a comment on the quality of the course, BTW. Prestwick is a good golf course. I just don't think it's truly a Pete Dye design.
Prestwick is a beauty.
Played there for the first time in October 2021

@jbshepherds Same -- I think they're both good courses.
I just remember reading that the vast majority of Pete & P.B. Dye designs, especially in the 1980s, were basically Pete putting his name on the project to help his son get work and that he wasn't really involved in designing those courses. I think Prestwick is in that category (and DeBordieu as well).
