We played here with a Member on Tuesday the 26th, sunny day temps around 68* and no real wind to worry about, POP was 4 hours even.  The course to me was in the best condition I can recall over the past several years.  Over seed has been completed and the green grass is growing in.  Greens had good speed and fairways had the ball sitting up nicely.  Tee blocks mostly in good shape with a few in the shady areas still on the thin side.  Traps were groomed but not much sand in many making them hard to actually blast out of.  Member we played with said the Supt. is trying hard to get the course back to its old self, his hard work is slowly paying off, only poor areas were some roughs, again in the shade and not much Bermuda to hit off.

One downside is the bridge below Georgetown Road ( also same road you used to take to play Ocean Harbor ) is still closed, so to get to the course, we had to drive up to Sea Trail and go through their property to get to Oyster Bay, so add an extra 10 minutes to your drive time.

Was there any sign or mention of new cart paths at OB?

Winter or summer is when they normally do that stuff.

Thanks!

Art, I forgot to make any mention of the cart paths,  not great and saw no sign of them being redone, some areas were smoothed down but overall a bumpy ride was had by all.

They were ready to do it then COVD came around, that killed the budget. Then Legends Golf Group was sold to a South Korean company, but Palmer Golf Management still operates the courses. They're currently scraping and cleaning the current paths with asphalt scheduled to be laid 1/12/25.

It's good to hear that the OB paths will be redone.

It would be nice if some trees next to the paths could be removed,
so some grass can grow in the rough.

I played some of the other Legends courses in the Spring and
noticed that the new cart paths were done where needed, not
all over.   Oyster Bay probably needs 100% done.
