Claude Pardue was on a Pittsburgh radio golf show this weekend.  He was a guest and encouraged to talk about the three Mystical courses.  He is a engaging personality and his pride in The Witch, The Wizard and Man-O-War was evident.  He lauded the condition of the courses and bragged about the bent grass greens.  The interview reminded me of the challenges those tracks held for me.  All three courses have an aura about them.  Man-O-War attracted a number of my golf balls.  Pardue is quite an ambassador for the Strand.

what is the future of The Wizard?  He says it is safe, but obviously the waters were tested.

Developing The Wizard was a last year topic.  It fell through.
Maybe it could happen again after Carolina Forest Blvd gets widened.

The Witch is considered the best Mystical by most forum members.
It could use modern hybrid greens and clubhouse updates.

Mr Pardue has said in other videos that the bent greens at Wiz/MOW
were designed with a soil mix designed for each green's location, based
on sunlight, drainage, etc.

I like all three.  Only play the Witch when it is not bug season, aka summer.  MOW is the course I play most often right now. I believe although some years I would say it was Wizard.  They are all good and the greens are always nice when the weather cools.  Amenities are lackluster but I'm there for the golf anyway.

If I had to join, it would be the Prime Time from Founders - a great variety of courses. Nothing wrong with Mystical Golf.

Golf is just an excuse to drink whiskey and smoke cigars
