What a difference 2 years makes. Greens are 1000% better!. Not fantastic but very puttable. Good overseed on the greens - not to good in the fairways but OK if you're moving the ball. Putting in new greens this summer which should help.  LC is a terrific layout. I would go back to play.

Did you have some condition intell that made you go play LC, after what
we hear?

The greens are bent.  Did they overseed them anyway?

Putting in new greens this summer is a good sign that Big Cats might be
planning to improve conditions.

Quevy and I decided to try one of the cat courses figuring they would be less busy, When I talked to the Director of Golf, he suggested Leopards. They overseeded the bent, otherwise they would have been unputtable.

The fact that they are going to spend the money to change the greens to bermuda (at least I assume -- can't imagine they'd put bent back) seems like an indicator that they're willing to invest to get the courses back in decent shape.

Thanks for the  update.  All the courses at Ocean Ridge are at least good designs.  Tiger's Eye and Leopard's Chase are very good layouts.  I am pleasantly surprised to hear that conditions are finally improving.  What is up with that?  Is there different ownership?  Are the courses member owned?

Courses are not members owned - but I assume they are putting pressure on the developer. Also - with all the golfers moving into the area, prices are going up allowing for more money to put back into conditioning

@undercover-golf-pro Good point on the growing population in the area.  Since I built in St. James in 2013, the number of homes has doubled.  A 7,000 home project is planned along 211 not far from St. James.  Further down 211 close to Supply, the developments are growing in leaps and bounds.  The North Carolina courses are seeing more and more demand.  As you said, it creates revenue, which may not go back into the courses.  It would be great to see the four Ocean Ridge courses back in tip top condition in the future.  It would appear their new superintendent is committed to that goal.

Time will tell if Big Cats plans to improve conditions or if new greens
at Leopards Chase this summer are because they are desperate to
have greens.   When bent greens need overseeding in the winter
in MB, that means they are shot.

Playing there in two weeks from today for the first time.   Last course on way out of town.   Good to hear about conditions.   Have only played TE then stayed away for 15 years.   Thanks for the update.

Good to hear.  Hopefully the improving conditions put the Cat courses back on the golf package radar.
