Larry Young paased away yesterday. He was developer of roughly 10% of the courses on the Grand Strand and now inducted in Myrtle hall of fame.

Great article and tribute.  It was interesting to learn about a few courses I
didn't know Larry was involved in building.

He clearly started Premium Package Golf in MB.  The Dunes + Surf were
nowhere as good as they are today and they weren't built to be package
courses.

In the 5 years leading up to Marsh Harbour, MB was building:
Waterway Hills - Deer Track - Carolina Shores - Raccoon Run
Ocean Isle Beach - Burning Ridge - Gator Hole - Island Green.
Not much left of them.

Marsh Harbour only closed because the land owner either doesn't
like golf or want people on their land.  They closed their own
course, Ocean Harbour, which they built.

Condolences to Mr. Young's family. No doubt that Mr. Young's depth and breadth of experience was extraordinary. He was a visionary and a pioneer not only in North and South Carolina but also in Virginia.

RIP Larry Young!
