I put this here so everyone would see it. Our own 1putt1 is the new Senior Club Champ at the Dunes. Leading after the first round, here is Bob's description at the end of day 2.

Had a 2 shot lead with 2 holes to play. Opponent hit it to 5 feet on the par three 17th. I pulled it to 45 feet. I made my birdie putt and he missed his shortie, and that was all she wrote! (UGP words here - that's why we call him 1putt1 !) Irons and putting were very good, drove it terribly (only 8 for 28 hitting fairways). Course was set up tough, greens lightning and pins borderline unfair. Lots of bitching from the players.

But no bitching from 1putt1 - there are a lot of very good players at the Dunes - this is a great accomplishment!

That's Lefty UGP and 1putt1 at the Dunes earlier this year.

Way to go Champ!

Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle.

Not surprised Bob can play and with his new Ping 410 plus that wonderful putting stroke he will be hard to keep up with.  Congrates to you Bob.

Well thanks for the support everyone! It was quite the grind, especially with not having played much tournament golf lately and not having the nerves of a 25 year old, LOL.

Tournament golf is a whole different game. If you’re in the hunt it’ll wear you down. Tough to stay focused and keep your energy level up, not to mention the nerves. Winning at the Dunes’s or surf club is a special accomplishment because there are many other good players. You deserve the accolades. Well done my friend I get shots from here on in,

Competition golf is another beast than recreational golf. I play competition many years. You have to stay in control of your emotions. After 65 years old, nerves can be a big factor.
