Our group trip is coming up soon starting 4/22 for 4 days with rounds at Blackmoor, Barefoot Norman, Prestwick and Arrowhead. The group consists of players 60+ with handicaps in the range of 14-28.
We always include a competition for one closest to pin hole and one long drive hole at each course. We always have trouble selecting good holes and often find starters at the courses are surprised by our questions and often recommend holes that turn out to be less than optimal.
I wanted to throw out the question to forum members who know these courses and recommend holes that even the highest handicappers can compete for - par 3's with big greens and not much trouble in front and par 4's or 5's with straight wide fairways.
I'm reviewing whatever I can from course descriptions online but wanted to get the perspectives of golfers who have played these courses.
Thanks for any input!
Blackmoor: CTP: 15 LD: 18
BF Norman: CTP: 16 (is short, easy, but #10 is great) LD: 9
Prestwick: CTP: 13 LD: 6
Arrowhead: Cypress: CTP: 6 LD: 8
Lakes: 5 9 If on Lakes, #5 is short.
Waterway: 3 4
With some long par 3's and either short or dogleg 4/5's, AH doesn't have many
ideal contest holes.

Thanks for the input. These are great suggestions. I called Arrowhead but won't know the courses we'll play until that day. Will be ready to pick the CTP and LD holes either way.
Thanks again, Bob
