Today our group is starting their annual trip at Tiger's Eye.  Unfortunately, I am still in Florida repairing from my back surgery last May.  This is my first missed trip since we started coming in 1982 or so.

Text from my guys about TE:  "As far as the course goes, the fairways and the greens are in really good shape.  Greens are very slow though.  Anything outside of those areas are a little questionable.  Nice little course so far."

To be fair some of the guys are players at our private club in Florida and our greens usually run about 11 or 12 on the meter.  It seems to me that the greens in MB are always slower than ours.

We always rent through Brian now that he is with Elliott.  8 bedroom condo on the second row.  Remaining schedule will be reported on as the guys feed me info each day.  The weather for the week looks great.

The rest of the schedule is:

Grand Dunes

Meadowlands

Thistle

Leopards Chase

Rivers Edge

Thanks for the report. Looking forward to upcoming reports as there are a couple in there that I haven't played.

@w082828 : thanks for reporting!

It must be tough for you to have your friends playing golf while taking care of yourself. Wishing you a prompt and full recovery!

Good start for your group, tough for you to have to stay home.  The rest of the courses you have listed should be stellar for your guys.  Take care and rest that back.

Day 3 Meadowlands - Not a good report.  "Greens had more sand than grass".  They issued 7 rainchecks because of the course conditions.

More feedback on Meadowlands:   THey have more issues than that. The starter told me that they thought it might have been an issue with fertilizer. Also said they recently lost their superindent to Grande Dunes.

Leopards Chase feedback:  This course has seen its better days.  Disappointing.

@w082828 I played Leopard's Chase last month and it was easily the best it's been in years.

The non-playing areas still need significant work, but the greens and fairways were very good -- similar to what your guys said about Tiger's Eye, although I played Tiger's Eye too and Leopard's Chase was definitely better.

The fairways could have been mainly due to overseed, but the greens weren't overseeded so it's hard to imagine they've gone downhill that quickly.

More feedback about Leopards Chase: The only thing that was decent were the greens and some of them were only do so. The fairways had several bare spots and almost anything outside the fairways were bare. At least we were playing preferred lies.

When Big Cats were going down hill,  it appeared they were not watering their courses enough.
If going to improve, they can't wait for rain.      Courses have firmed up now, if not watering.

Our groups final ratings for the week:

1.  The Thistle

2.  Grand Dunes

3.  Rivers Edge

4.  Tigers Eye

5.  Leopards Chase

6.  Meadowlands

I would suggest that next years lineup will include

True Blue

Glen Dornach

Tidewater

Grand Dunes

The Dunes

Meadowlands (due to rain checks this year)
