Just Mr & Mrs JW11 for 7 nights.
No kids, no visitors this time. Stayed in the Windy Hill section -oceanfront. Went through Elliott Realty (Brian can book you through Elliott- I HIGHLY recommend).
Great beach weather.. about 78 and mostly sunny daily with a couple stray showers.
Only golfed once... with fellow MBGT members Art and Denis. We played True Blue. I played on an old rain check . The course was in good shape. The rough was low so I don't remember having a bad lie all day. The sand was easy to get out of ( Denis was on the beach a few times and had some great shots out) . Cart paths were very smooth for the most part, Greens rolled very nicely (9.5 stimp?) and tee boxes are flat.
If you'd like to see pictures check out Denis' post . He and I both put up some photo's. Art and Denis were great to golf with and it was a very comfortable pairing.
I was supposed to golf with Art's group at Pawleys but my old back was acting up..
FOOD
We highly, highly, highly recommend Mr Fish Seafood Market @ 6307 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach. Most people call there and make order for pickup (like us) but they have about 10 indoor tables and a couple outdoor picnic tables, 7 beers on tap and other refreshments. The best thing though is their seafood. If you like grouper order their "grouper platter" which includes 2 sides and hush puppies. We get the blackened grouper which has a great spice to it but it's not hot. The grouper is the best we've had in Myrtle and we've been going there for several years. They also have other types of fish you can order in a platter which is a great value . We also order bulk fried shrimp. Also some of the best fried shrimp we have had in MB. You can order a pound or a pound and a half or whatever you want. The prices are better than most restaurants and the food is -like I said- outstanding. The people that work there are always very pleasant. . Make sure to ask for extra cocktail sauce if you get fried shrimp or buy a small container.
We also visited Hook & Barrel in the same general area. We thought the food was good but overpriced and small portions. I don't recommend.
We went to Rockafellers in the Windy Hill area... about a mile North of Barefoot Landing. We go here every trip . My wife says they have the best Oysters Rockafeller anywhere. I usually get grilled grouper which comes with potato and starch for about $22.
Our other takeouts were burger and wings from Wild Wings at Barefoot Landing. wings were good but burger was great . One night was Bojangles fried chicken which was very good, buy beware the chicken has A LOT of breading (in case you don't like that) and the chicken has a peppery spice which we like but you may not. Also picked up Hamburger Joes burgers. Make sure you get a double burger.
We will be back for 2 weeks mid October ( probably with kids and visitors ) ,hopefully with a healthy back.
Even though I only golfed once we had a great time just beaching and relaxing and getting away from the stressful life in Hellinois. Can't wait to become a full time SC resident.

Also... we found a company in MB that rents things like beach chairs, coolers ,umbrellas at great prices. If you are flying in or don't have room in your car call 843 446 8723 to order what you need.
We ordered 2 chairs and the total was around $100 for a week. they deliver and pick up the chairs. the chairs come short or tall.
I forget the name of the company

It was great to join you and Denis at TB. We'll try again in Oct.
Did you go to a new Bojangles at 82nd + 17? It may not be open yet.
Next door there is a new 7/11. I don't think it's open yet, because their
gas price sign had funny numbers on it, like $5.55.
Thanks!

Bogangles didn't look open yet Art (went to the Bojangles by Arcadian Shores GC and WalMart) , and yes I did see the yet- to- open 7-11 /gas station with the gas price $5.55 , we laughed .
PS... regular gas costs $1.00 less per gallon in MB than in Hellinois.

Compare this price to renting a chair from the lifeguards /$75 per day for one chair ??
Its a no brainer

JW, thanks for posting your trip report, good to play with Forum Members. Friends we know stay in the Windy Hill Dunes, they love it. Ouch on the price of a beach chair for one person, highway robbery IMO. Enjoy your summer and hopefully the back will heal for you and Oct. trip will be a good one.
JW thanks for sharing I will be down with wife June 10 till June 21.
