Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle.

If it's 230 to Rivers Edge #17, Green Light.
If it's 230 to Rivers Edge #9, probably a Red Light.

The line in Tincup was "We didn't come her to layup" Grip it and rip if you can hit the 230 and the lie is favorable.

Definite green light, like going to MB you do not go there to lay up.
I asked myself that exact question after my tee shot on 18 @River Club about 8or 10 years ago.
I took out my Callaway 2wood and gave it a good rip.
Nailed it.
Made the 8inch eagle putt.
I think that was only my 2nd or 3rd eagle.
Sitting on 5 now and I'm afraid it will stay that way unless I get a hole in one.

Green light when I was 35-40 years old.
Red light most definitely now that I am 70+!
Downwind green light baby.
Downhill and downwind would be the only reason for a green light. It's red light on nearly all occasions. I know they make golf balls everyday but I don't make money everyday.
My brother would say, chicken is for the clubhouse menu.
