On April 22nd, our hosting provider suffered a very serious cyber attack (some of the details can be found here – https://www.a2hosting.com/blog/windows-service-update/). As part of the recovery process, they had to perform a system restoration which has caused us to lose about 1 week of posts (plus the week we were offline so that is why recent posts are saying 2 weeks old). We are still trying to get back the archive site; however, that is looking doubtful at this point in time as the software had some vulnerabilities and may not be permitted to be turned back on even if they can recover the data.
Thank you for your patience during this time.
Just returned from a week at Brunswick Plantation as we have owned a townhome there for 15 years and make 6-7 visits each year... enjoyed a nice week of golf, day trip to Fort Fisher aquarium, a beach walk, and several restaurant visits. Here's our list for the week which includes some lunch and dinner spots: Hickory Tavern (NMB), San Felipe Mexican (Shallotte), Hook & Barrel (Myrtle Beach near Dunes Club), Oyster Rock (Calabash), La Cucina (Sunset Beach), Blueberry Grill (Barefoot Landing), Bagel Dock (Calabash), Calabash Deli, and Barefoot Resort Grill. Absolutely no complaints with any of the locations listed. Terrific service, good food, reasonable prices and nice atmosphere... Highly recommend each restaurant.
La Cucina is a small, quaint Italian bistro. Reservations would be wise due to the size and popularity of the locals in Sunset Beach. Extensive menu with daily specials, catch of the day except on Sundays. Service is very prompt as there is a small number of customers in the restaurant. No real indoor waiting area. Enjoy!
