This year we played 3 of our favorite north end courses. I think they are the best "bang for your buck" deals.
Lots of sun on our first day at Crow Creek. Course in great shape except for the greens. They were very thin and had small bare spots but we still enjoyed the course. Pace of play was good and beer was cold. Had she crab soup at Boardwalk Billy's!!
Second day at Sea Trails Byrd. Hadn't played there in 15 years and after 2 holes remembered why. Cart paths were very poor and beat you up. Course conditions were so-so and greens were over-sanded. Prime rib special at Mulligans was a must.
Tuesday was 27 holes at Arrowhead, One of my favorites and did not disappoint except for loads of sand on greens. Otherwise it was in A-1 shape. Should play this course every year. Hit BW Billy's again.
Traveled to Carolina National. Have played this the last 4 years (twice in '22) because we like it so much. Tees and fairways in great shape but again the theme was excess of sand on greens. Hickory Tavern for supper.
Scheduled for Brunswick last day but rained out and headed back to northwest Ohio.
4 of us first came to MB on a January get-away in 1990. Switched to October during covid years. Group gradually expanded to 8, then 12 and as many as 16. Numbered at 9 or 10 the last few years as we age, 6 of this year's 9 were 72+. Already making plans for next year.........
While courses occasionally sand greens for smoothness, it
was mostly bad luck to get 3 out of 4 sanded.
It also could have been overseeding on some of them.

Thanks for your report on the courses you played, tough luck on the sanding of the greens. Got to love Boardwalk Billy's, always good food and lots of it for your buck.
