Played the Jones course today and it was in good shape. Tee boxes good, fairways good, rough was manageable, greens were a little slow but rolled well, bunkers were very good. The bigger news is that changes are already being made by the new ownership. For 1 thing the driving range is now gone. Bull dozed last week for construction of new homes. I looked into the convention center and you could see hundreds of brand new chairs had been delivered. We were told by the cart attendant that the plan is to move the pro shop to the convention center while the clubhouse is being remodeled. Sounds like there are big plans but right now it shows the growing pains.
We have to wonder how committed a course is to golf,
when they get rid of the range for a few houses.
Thanks for reporting.

Good to read of the new changes at Sea Trail, not having a range to me is not a big deal, put up a net like they do at several courses to loosen up a bit before heading off to play. Hoping to see the changes next year when I am down again.
They're building a new range, or at least that was supposed to be part of the plan with the hotel etc.
Glad to hear it. It was always my favorite of the Sea Trail courses.
3 Good tracks - Jones one of the best layouts in MB area
Golf is just an excuse to drink whiskey and smoke cigars
I played at Sea Trail last year. Nice to read for the changes. Nice place to play golf. Thanks for the report UGP

When the builder purchased the land, not the course, the driving range was included along with a few other area's. If I recall part of the putting greens has the same issue. Then at a later date, the same company purchased the rest of the land that included the courses.

Always liked the land that all of Sea Trail sits on; scenic, elevation changes, varied architectural layouts, all come to mind. We all hope that the new ownership will be exemplary stewards.
