1:00 tee time. $109 per

Check in: Was pretty easy. With 27 holes it can be quite packed at the bag drop but the logistics ran smooth. Our carts were loaded 5 minutes prior to tee time.

Tee boxes: The overseeded boxes were flat and in great shape.

Fairways: Lush and even overseed. Great shape.

Rough: Bermuda trying to come out but the chilly nights won’t allow it quite yet.

Bunkers: Sand was in good shape in both fairway and green side bunkers. The riveted faces are a nice touch.

Greens: Nice and smooth. Probably around 10. Held shots nicely.

Pace: Just a smidge over 4 hours.

They are redoing the green side bunker on Mackay #2.

We had a great day today. Nice course in good shape and paired up with two nice gentlemen.

No 9 on the Stewart course is all you want in a par 3.

Also saw 2 nice gators which is always the highlight of a round for me.

That is a great property.

Right across the street from The Pearl.

Thistle is one of our favorites.  Played it last year and it didn't disappoint.

Thanks once again @brattenj for reporting!

It's quite hard not to love a course like Thistle when conditions are good!

@6542golf I agree that I don't think the architecture of Thistle is worth $110, but I could say the same about probably 95% of the rest of the courses in the MB area and they're almost all charging that or more if you don't have the Passport or some other kind of discounted rate.

The fact that the Thistle only will load you up 5 minutes before your tee time is very annoying. Golfers like to get settled in to their space before they go putt or hit balls. No other course does this. I wonder what their reasoning is for this practice.

Could be that carts were not available.

Also at Thistle, we don't drive to the range, like at some courses.
Putting green and range are close to the clubhouse, so we walk
to them.

4/4/22 Mackay/Cameron

Day3, morning round

8:35am; $45 per (Brunswick County Players card)

Tees: tips

POP: 3 hours 45 minutes

Thistle is as fine a course as i have played in some time.  Tees, fairways, greens, bunkers all top notch.  Thistle is top of the list of courses we have played so far. Highly recommend this course.

Agree with the above poster about last minute loading of carts.  They did same with us.  Makes no sense.

Thistle doesn't have a lot of cart room at the bag drop, so maybe they
want to make sure next out is first in line.    Another thought is maybe
tips are better when the whole foursome is there at load time.
