I played at The Woodland Valley today. This course there is known as Diamondback. The conditions were good. Range balls were provided and included in the rate. There is a good driving range. Many golfers today. The parking was full. But the starter was good. He was on the clock. The pace of play was correct (4 1/2 hres). No CPO, except on the 17th hole. The course is not an easy one. The slope is over 125. Perhaps too far away from Myrtle Beach for some golfers( more than 30 minutes of driving). But it was a beautiful day to play golf.
For me, it was my last round of golf today in Myrtle Beach. We will return in Canada in a few days.

Staying around Cane Patch, Diamondback is a fairly long drive, but
RE, TB, Pawleys are longer drives than that. 🙂
The country drive feels longer than the busy Rt 17.
Thanks for your reports on your trip!

I played Diamondback years ago and the conditions were not very good, so I am glad to hear they have improved. The staff was very friendly. Thanks for reporting . Safe travels.
Thanks for your report on Diamondback, as you say a tough course and a little tight in areas. Have a good and safe trip back home.
Thanks for all your reports during your MB stay @s333h!
I can't believe it's already over for you!
Safe travels back home (there's still snow on the ground and we're expecting around a foot of snow for next Sunday and Monday... in the Quebec City area... and around 8 inches in the Eastern Townships, we're you live)! 🙁

We played there in February and it was in decent shape and greens were good.
Phase 1 was complete the course, Phase 2 was to start building houses. When they sell lots the course benefits, hence the improvements to the course over the last couple of years. I was blown away by the improvements when we played in the POW/MIA Rolling Thunder Charity Event last Fall. It is not the same course it was when it opened ... The cost is low due to it's location/drive time but it offers one of the better values on the beach. We book allot of round out there and rarely get complaints. They either know how to maintain a golf course, or they know how the handle complaints VERY well! Patrick and his Staff have done an incredible job there.

We were pleasantly surprised. We went there because our golf partners had won a free foursome prize in a tournament. The course is looking good.
I didn't enjoy the course, It is a tight course and every time I played it, it was really wet.
I tell any of my golf buddies who play in the World Am, if you draw Woodland Valley/Diamondback...go play it before the tournament. It can eat you lunch in a hurry. I love the course myself but have never scored well there. Over the years, I probably have played it about 15 times, several rounds in the WA. Had my best round ever going there when suddenly the cart girl appears out of nowhere while my ball is in the air, hits the top of her cart and careens deep into the woods. Turns a potential par, maybe even birdie, into a triple.
