Going to replace their greens. Around middle of June.

Did you hear about it or is there an article?

Did they say what kind of grass?
Glen Dornoch used Champions, but many are using Sunday Hybrid on new greens.
If in equal condition and speed, all the hybrids look and play the same.
Of course bent is different, but the hybrids at Surf, The Dunes and some others putt better
than other bents in MB.

Actually talked to the club house. Going to use the Sunday I asked if the same as Glen Dornoch and he told me no.

They need to get rid of the bent - and I don't believe that Shaftsbury can build houses on their course due to deed restrictions. They can shut it down I'm pretty sure, but that.s very unlikely

It is quite a move, but it is necessary. Like many other golf courses have done.

A lot of older locals don't like Shaftsbury as all the greens are elevated and make it hard to run a shot up. The layout is OK - and it is much better since they did all the work to it a year or two ago

Lordy, I thought the same!  Whew.

My group played Shaftsbury the first trip I took... maybe 10 years ago now.

I've thought about playing again but it was never my favorite.  Well maintained but a little to much of the same.  I'd hate to see it go away though, so new greens is good.

Nice to see a course putting the work in.

Good to see they are replacing the greens, bent grass down here seems to be very hard to maintain.

Heat, airflow, and humidity are the death nell of bent grass greens - and all three are an issue in MB

More, the elevated greens at this course complicate the situation.
