I had the pleasure to play the Sea Trail Jones today with two gentleman, LeftyGar and John (from MA). First round of golf since my arrival, three days ago. We had a lot of sunshine and a little wind on some holes. The staff at the bag drop and in the pro shop made a very good job. We started on time. After a slow start because of the group in front of us, the pace of play was better after the first three holes.
The conditions were as follows:

Tees - Good.  No issues. They were overseeded and the new grass is now very visible.

Fairways - A little softer and wet on some holes, but good.

Rough - Not bad.  A little thick in spots. Rough is In transition, the brown is becoming very present.

Bunkers - They have rakes and they are in correct condition.

Greens - All the greens are in good shape but slow (maybe 8.5-9). On some greens, we experienced some bumpy putts. But, in general, they hold the line. However, i had difficulties with the speed of the greens on some holes.

Cart Paths - In very good condition.

Overall, a very pleasant first round of golf. Thanks to my partners. There are many good holes on this course and the design is very interesting. The Sea Trail Jones is a very solid golf course to play.

Good take on the Jones course, hard to beat sunny skies and 78* temps.  Both John and I enjoyed our day today and look forward to our next game Monday.

Sounds good.   Are they building houses on some holes?
I have not played there lately.

I feel some bumpy putts can be traced back to a recent footprint from
a shoe that is full of thick nubs, or just a lot of heavy play.

Thanks!

@artmbgolf

Art, on Jones, they now have houses on holes 1 thru 3 that are new, over on Byrd again new houses going up everywhere but IMO not in play as they look to be closer to the roadway left side as you drive in to the clubhouse.

Jones is an excellent layout with many good holes. Conditions have always been the issue

Golf is just an excuse to drink whiskey and smoke cigars
