Thanks to a recent positive report on this forum I finally played at Sandpiper Bay yesterday and checked it off the list. We played the Piper/Bay 9's.
Staff inside and out were good and got us off 15 minutes ahead of schedule which was nice. Practice area is solid to warm up which is always a plus.
The course for what I always thought to be a lower tier course were quite good. Tees, fairways, rough and greens all good. A bare spots around the edges due to mature tee growth but nothing that really impacts play. Greens a little bit on the slower side bit nothing too bad.
The course design is solid with some good dog leg holes and short par 4's where you have the option to play aggressive or play conservative. Par 3's were mid to long length mostly over water which made for a good challenge. There is ample room off the tee on most of the holes making it quite playable.
Only complaint is the cart paths need some serious work, best to get it onto the course as quickly as possible. POP was 4 hours.
Overall, a very good golf experience and would certainly play here again. Great value for the money.
Thanks for the update on the course i havent thought about playing.
Let the Big Dawg Bark!!!
Effectively @mperna2001, this is a great bang for the buck kind of course.
Thanks again for reporting!

I was also surprised about this course very playable.
Brownwood Bandit
Many years ago when visiting MB SB was often on our list to play. A little easier and fun - and always in good shape
Golf is just an excuse to drink whiskey and smoke cigars
Played SB the last two years. Impressed with conditions and the newer greens. There should be some kind of rule about the tree roots. You could get seriously injured if you are not careful in the rough.
