It was supposed to rain, but turned out to be a cool and pleasant day. Moved around in 3.30 and the course was in decent shape and not CPO. Greens are sketchy, slow and a little bumpy but putts could be made. A long tough course with several good holes, most people on this forum have played here. And while the greens are not great, I still recommend playing PL especially since they haven't punched and sanded them yet. PL greens always seem to be slow.
And a note to 6542 - we need to be 70, not 69. Last two rounds I missed out on shooting our new age with a pair of 70's, as you did on our birthday.

Important to play safe on this course. If not, you can eat your socks. Thanks for sharing UGP.

It seems like the Paspalum greens take longer to come out of dormancy
compared to the other hybrids. Then when it's growing well, it's too hot
to want to cut them low. Then in the fall they use a heavy overseed to
get the Paspalum through winter/spring.
Rivers Edge gave up on Paspalum after a few years.
Thanks for reporting!

UCP sounds like a deal we will work on shooting our age in a month or so. Can't wait to get there for some friendly competition.
Brownwood Bandit
Friendly competition ....plus throw a few bucks in the pot too.
I'd like to join you two , but I would get taken to the cleaners.

Thanks for the report. Like Pine Lakes but I wish they had a range.
Thanks for the report @UGP!
Played Pine Lakes numerous time and did always appreciate my golf experience out there!
Besides, they are offering probably the best club sandwich on the Grand Strand! 😉

Let the Big Dawg Bark!!!
have played Pine Lakes maybe a half dozen times. last time was last october.
am i the only one that thinks the conditions are ALWAYS just one tick away from being perfect-no matter the season?
first time i played it was before the reno and i recall that round as better than those since (though i must admit some prejudice since i was playing the course THAT LAUNCHED SPORTS ILLUSTRATED!)
First two times I played it it was near perfect. The greens were smooth and quick. Since then, I've played it three or so more times. The conditions all around were very good, with the exception of slow greens. They were smooth, just slow.
