Played Meadowlands for first time on Wednesday. It was a fun round with new superintendent Stephen "Sleepy" Drews who moved over from Farmstead. Conditions were very good and I only expect them to get better. Most of the greenkeeping staff and equipment from Farmstead is now at Meadowlands.

Greens at Meadowlands are fun, lots of movement. Layout is tricky, several holes require 3 wood or less tee shots. Sounds like there will be some tree thinning going on this winter, which is always a good thing.

RIP Farmstead!

Meadowlands should also have access to plenty of Farmstead sod,
if needed anywhere.  🙂

Maybe ML will start showing up in the Underrated topics?

I am putting ML on my Spring bucket list.

Thanks!

Thanks for posting your report. I am glad that Stephen Drew and his team has moved from Farmstead to Meodowlands. We are assured to have good conditions like at Farmstead. This golf course will be even more popular with the time.

Played Meadowlands on the 17th and it was in good shape...greens were slick, we played in the afternoon and pace of play was good until the 17th then it ground to a halt and we almost couldn't finish.

My friend played Meadowlands Sunday. The golf course offers very good condition. They have overseeded with Rye. So the tee boxes, fairways and collars are being watered heavily. He had some plugged balls in the fairways. Greens are almost perfect…they are fast but the speed is very similar on each hole. Some of the pin placements were difficult to play. But it is an easy choice at this time.

I have consistently posted my positive feelings about Meadowlands.  I think it is THE bargain considering price and conditions of the northern MB area golf courses.  I thought the course was always in good condition before the Farmstead closing.  Any improvement is an absolute bonus.  Put Meadowlands on your play list when you are in the Myrtle Beach area.  You won't be disappointed.
