NEW CART PATHS - what a pleasure to drive on! Course in real good shape no problem playing the ball down, though the fairways were a little long. Tough rough to hit out of. Greens were slow like so many others in town - not quite as slow as Tradition. I don't understand because the hybrids are designed for heat tolerance and to be fast. Perhaps our resident superintendent can weigh in on the issue. I never had these hybrids on my course. Some of the greens had not fully recovered from aerofying. I have always liked Meadowlands, some very good holes, and the par 5's give you great opportunity for birdies as they are not real long. Together with Farmstead an excellent one two punch for 36 holes of golf!

It is very pleasant to drive on new cart paths. During the winter, Meadowland is very popular amongst the seniors and is women friendly. Thanks for this quick update. How many birdies today on these short par 5?

Why am I only asked questions on how I did on days I don't do well!!!   birdie on #4 - the rest par. If you missed the fairway you pretty much had to just chop it out

I know that you can make easily 3-4 birdies each round. And you have a reputation to preserve as a undercover pro. We know your talent UGP. ????????????

We don't expect speeds like Surf and The Dunes, but hybrid greens being slower
than a medium 8-9 doesn't seem needed.

Maybe a lot of reports are happening after aerify or other maint.
Maybe many are being cautious after the freeze of winter/spring 2018.
There are a number of courses with fairly new greens or with sodded parts
after 2018's freeze.

Thanks!

It is possible Art. I think also that some superintendant have been burned in 2018 and they do not want to receive bad reports again. They know that the greens condition is very important for many golfers. Decision to play or not a golf course depends very often on that. So they are careful.

I played a private course in Orland Park Illinois called Crystal Tree Country Club yesterday in the stimp was 13

That was Unreal and I loved it.

Summertime should be high-stimp season. No ?

You are in peak season at home and it's a private course.
It's probably bent grass and they have to keep it watered.

It's off season in MB now, so some courses won't be prepped for peak season play.
MB Greens will be faster in the fall, if and until a course overseeds them.

Thanks for the report.  We will be playing Meadowlands in October.  I have not played it since they did some hole revisions.

I'm one of those guys.  I really don't want to play a course with greens slower than an 7 or 8 on the stimp (ideally, not slower than 8).  It seems like it is hard to keep the greens smooth when they are that slow as well.  I can live with greens running 8, running smooth, with good coverage if it keeps them healthier/hardier throughout the year or if they need to stand up to summer heat.  But anything below that...next!

I may try this one/two on the  fall

Our group played there last fall.  First they allowed us to play 9 one afternoon and the other 9 the next day (worked out front, then back, but they double checked the tee sheets).  Gave us a great deal on that.

Friend left his wallet in cart after the round.  We spoke with people that night and they said everything was locked but took his number.  Got a call first thing in the am to let him know that they had it.  Starter and two food service people were awesome.

Course is good - not great.  Service makes it worth returning too at some point.
