Played Pawley's Planation Sunday. Sunny skies but chilly breeze temp low 50s.

Course drained well after recent heavy rainstorm on Thursday. No cart restrictions, no mud balls, and an average amount of roll. Course was wall-to-wall overseed like other Founders Group courses. Fairways and roughs are in good shape so no issues there. Bunkers needed a fresh raking and were crusty. Pace of play great, didn't have to wait once all day as the tee sheet was rather light. Good practice area with quality turf to hit off.

Greens were overseeded as well and were satisfactory. Speed was fine but the overseed isn't dense enough yet to give a pure roll. Greens at Tradition are better.

I have played PP twice and both times the course was in average condition. Definitely a difficult layout with some very interesting holes. As I recall, #1 was a pretty tough starting hole, and #17 an unfair par 3 over water to a thin target. I need to get down there again one day. It is definitely worth playing.

Pawley's Plantation is usually one of my favorite courses. I love that both nines have two different feels to them, the first nine being more of a through the woods style course, and #1 is a tough par 5 to start on too UGP! The second nine you finally get to the salt water marsh and two par 3's go over the marsh with the first one you encounter being more difficult I think because you have to hit your target or it's in the water. I try to play this course often, but with it being on the far end of the south strand it's a hike for me to get to, but always enjoy it, great practice facility too!

Thanks Bob!

Just played there twice (the last time was less than a year ago) and I will definitely go back!

Thanks for the Local Scoop 1putt1.

I plan to play this one in October. It's still on my bucket list.

Perhaps we'll tee it up together - haven't been there in at least a year.
