Father/Son

This is our 3rd year playing the Father/Son, add it to your bucket list. First off is that the tourament is very well run and the staff is always there to help. The first course was Shaftsbury Glen, formant best ball. The staff at course was excellent, after that things went downhill. The greens were horrible, no sense reading your line because it didn't matter. There are new homes being built on course but didn't come into play. Tees and fairways okay. Second day, scramble formant, at the Love course, was much better. From tee to green, putts ran true, course in excellent shape. Course also provided a great after round lunch. Staff okay but felt like they had a lot on their plate. Last day at The Pearl, alternate shot formant. Had played a practice round on Wed. where the greens were fair but after getting 4 in. off rain the night before tourament play, the greens were excellent. Staff got everyone out to there holes[shot gun] easily and entire stafff very welcoming. Did not atttend family night but heard it was good time, also did not attend awards ceremony. In my survey I expressed my feeelings that alternate shot puts pressure on high handicappers and should be replaced by a more enjoyable formant. the scores on the final day bares that out. All that said, golf with son in Myrtle, yet it's hot, is well worth the trip.
