Played here today under sunny skies and wonderful temperature of 70 degrees and very little wind. It has been a while since playing this course and today I am happy to say it was worth it. They have a very good over seed, fairways are still on the soft side so had many mud balls. Greens although a bit on the slow side putted very smoothly. Tee areas flat with no funny lies to speak of. Bunkers had lot of sand, it fact to much on one hole as UGP friend Bill lost a ball in one of them. Our POP was about 4 hours and we had a five-some. that was held up by a foursome in front of us. Range balls today were also complimentary.
Have to add playing with UGP and his buddy Bill was great, both hit it very good, I think UGP was even or 1 under. Myself the game is a work in progress but am praying it comes around to respectful once again, we will be back to Diamondback for sure.
Had to wait 6 months to play with Lefty again - worth the wait - good time had. DB has done a great job on a low budget. Greens rolled true at about 8 which seems to be about standard for mid to lower tier courses. I really like DB as it fits my game - driving the ball is the key. Don't hesitate to play it - solid mid tier, and tougher than most. Lefty S...h and UGP

I played DB in the spring and also saw how much improved it is, with new greens.
Thanks!

Tall yes Bob, but short off the tee right now and fairways are a thing of the past right now. ???? ????
Each year, i try to play at DB. Well worth the trip to go there.
I imagine your pleasure to replay together. Always pleasant to replay with some friends like UGP and Lefty.
Good score UGP. Do you had difficulties with your tee shot at the 10th hole? The tee shot at this hole is always a challenge for me. It is very tight and it requires at least 200 yds to go over the pond.

10 sets up perfectly for my fade. Actually an easier shot from the white tees. It's a 3 shot hole so a drive of 180 on the left side is all you really need, then lay up short of the pond on the right, and a short shot to the green. I typically hit driver, hybrid, sand wedge on 10.

Good strategy. And again a great score. Have fun playing golf!

UGP had a unique 10th hole, his drive was a touch left, then he hit his 2nd shot close to a tree, left again, 3rd shot with the bark of the tree on his ass he hit a wedge to about 4 feet from the hole and rolled in a birdie putt, definitely not routine and that was the stake in the heart for his buddy who he had a match with.
Not a tough third shot since I'm used to having my wife all over my ass to do stuff besides play golf!
